Red Sox are slip sliding away

~~ Yankees 9, Red Sox 1 ~~

This is probably the last regular season game I will be at. I have tickets for Game 2 of the ALDS, so I am hoping the Yankees get home field advantage.

Garcia pitched 6 innings of shut-out baseball. This was such a fun game to be at. I always worry when I go to Yankees vs Red Sox because my record is not good. More games lost by the Yankees then won. In fact, this might be the first win thus breaking my streak. Raul Valdes gave up the only run and when he did, the Red Sox fans cheered like it was the go ahead run. People, they are still down 8 runs.

Going into the bottom of the second the Red Sox had 0 runs, 1 hit. When Cano got a single I thought, Oh good we’re even now. Then the next two batters got on, all of a sudden it was bases loaded, one out. Jesus Montero comes up to bat. I wondered if he would get his first major league grand slam, he didn’t, he did get a RBI, the first of the game. Russell Martin then hits a single to left field, Carl Crawford bobbles it, the ball kind of just popped out of his glove, 2 more runs. Then the Captain comes up to bat, my man the captain, hits home run number 6, to bring the total of runs in the inning to 6. Mark struck out, but the Yankee bats were not done. In the bottom of the third Jesus Montero hit a two run double and Jon Lester was done. Jesus Montero >> Jon Lester

The Yankees last run of the game was a home run, hit by Jesus Montero.

Since last nights game was rained out tomorrow is a day night double header. I’ll see you then.

After 1400 bad outings ….

~~ Yankees 4, Red Sox 2 ~~

That was how the text started, the text from my Red Sox fan friend.

1400 bad outings and he picks last night to get his crap together?????

This was the next morning, I was still fuming at THAT BUM that hit Mark and knocked him out of the game. Beating the Red Sox was not enough, I wanted Aceves blood. So I fired back a response:

Don’t pick on AJ. You have enough of your own sucky players to complain about.

I am not sure if he truly understood my comment. Not sucky in that they can’t play ball, but in that they keep hitting people when they really shouldn’t. The Red Sox seem to have Mark Teixeira in their sites. Sour grapes perhaps?

Cano, Martin and Chavez took care of the Red Sox for us, and AJ held them to 2 runs. And the new wonder boy Jesus Montero? He went 0 for 4. Well what did you expect? It was his first day in the bigs, facing big league pitchers. He did score a run, Aceves welcomed him to Major League baseball with a major league plunking.

Meanwhile, back in the rotation

~~ Red Sox 9, Yankees 5 ~~

After scoring 4 runs off Josh Beckett in the 6th inning the Yankees now had one run ahead of the Sox, unfortunately, the Sox hit Hughes hard. Maybe not as hard as Beckett hit Mark Teixeira, but considering Mark stayed in the game and Hughes left, maybe harder.

Tomorrow’s game in the capable hands of A.J. Burnett. Yes I’ve been drinking.

Everybody can just stuff it now

~~ Yankees 5, Red Sox 2 ~~

For everyone who said CC couldn’t beat the Red Sox.

Of course, it was bound to happen, he wasn’t going to go all season and into the post-season without beating them, just like Lackey can’t go two starts without hitting a batter (yeah I went there). Now he has done it.

He also gave the Sox a taste of their own medicine: after the inning when Curtis was not hit-by-pitch, he hit Ellsbury, later in the game though Lackey got his hits batman, Cervelli. It came back to bite him when Cervelli scored. Matt Albers then hit Posada.

The hit-by-pitches were controversial in this game, in that in the first inning, Granderson was hit and the umpire said no, and in the 9th, the umpire said Saltalamacchia was hit by Mo when he swung, Joe was mad came running out and got thrown out. It didn’t matter, Mo just got the next batter out. End of ball game, Yankees win.

New York Yankees at Boston ~ Sunday, August 7, 2011

~~ Red Sox 3, Yankees 2 ~~

Yankees were ahead, granted it was one run, but Mo came in and …. Mo? MO! You pick now to be human!! And then that nasty Garden Gnome has to hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game, off my Mo. **sticks pin in Pedroia doll**

So free baseball in Fenway, then Hughes gives up the winning run. Tough loss. Yankees also kind of ran through the bullpen, now the only thing to do is move forward.

At least the Boston pitchers held true to form and hit Jeter.

New York Yankees at Boston ~ Saturday, August 6, 2011

~~ Red Sox 10, Yankees 4 ~~

Despite a home run by Mark Teixeira and a stolen base by Curtis Granderson; even though we had the big man on the mound, Red Sox won this one. Very disappointing. In fact, CC only pitched 6 innings and gave up 7 runs. Lackey was in his usual form, hitting Robinson Cano and Gardner. Before you think I am picking on Lackey because he’s a Red Sox and ugly (both are true), the Red Sox lead the MLB in hit batsmen. Look it up.

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees ~ Wednesday, June 8, 2011

~~ Red Sox 11, Yankees 6 ~~

Boston continues to hit the Yankees hard, even their pitchers. Yes Tim Wakefield hit Robinson Cano. He is a knuckleball thrower and Derek said, he doesn’t think even Wakefield knows where the ball is going. He gave up 5 runs, and the reliever Aceves, who used to pitch for the Yankees gave up one. You would think that six runs for the Yankees would be enough. Except that A.J. gave up 8 runs, 7 earned and if that was enough, Lance Pendleton gave up another 3. Rough night for us Yankee fans.

The commentary on this is short because I didn’t watch the game. I was at church and when I got home and saw the score I just kept track on my computer. It is less painful that way.

So once again the Red Sox have won the series with Ortiz, Crawford and Drew each hitting home runs. I heard Ortiz didn’t do his bat flip, not that I care. I am just don’t want another sweep.

Boston versus New York ~ Tuesday, June 7, 2011

~~ Red Sox 6, Yankees 4 ~~

Words cannot describe how much I despise Jon Lester, I know since he is a Red Sox pitcher it goes without saying that I don’t like him, but my feelings go beyond that, I hate, loathe and despise him. Jon Lester is a thug, a bully, a jerk and ugly. Now that I’ve unburdened myself, he hit Mark on the knee (could have broken his kneecap!) in the first inning, putting him out of the game. In the same inning he hit Russell Martin. His ninth hit batter of the season, his career total is 38 hit batters. I don’t know why he wasn’t taken out of the game. He blamed it on his ‘cut fastball’, batters don’t know its going to cut in so they don’t get out of the way. Here’s a thought, don’t throw the ball at their knees!

On another note, my streak is intact, what streak is that you ask? Every game I’ve gone to that was Yankees vs. Boston, Boston has won. **hangs head** ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Garcia got hit hard first inning, Ellsbury hit a home run, and Garcia was pulled in the second inning. He was disappointed that he was pulled so early. Ayala came in for 1 and a third inning. Then Noesi the hero of the extra innings Baltimore game came in for the last 6 innings. He also got hit, this time by Ortiz with one man on. I don’t really hate Ortiz, like I hate some other Red Sox, I would just like to reach out and slap that fat, ugly, smug, bastard in his fat face. Just for being smug.

Jorge came in for Mark, pitch ran then played first. He did alright, got 3 hits (breaking his hitless streak against lefties {take that Jon Lester}), he must hate Jon Lester too.

Yankees came back, but not enough. I stayed to the end, watched Puppybone strike out Alex and do his fist pump. BOO! Red Sox may have won, but they are still ugly. Sorry that’s all I got.
