Will they win it? ~ May 8

This is my version of “Live Blogging”. I’m sitting in my basement watching this game, I saw Derek hit two home runs, one by Curtis who also made two run saving catches. The Yankees were ahead by two, now only one. Joba, you can pump that fist, Yankees are still in the lead, and that run was not your fault. Alex needs a head slap, Gibbs style.

This game has been riddled, just riddled with errors. 4 errors by the Yankees, the type of game that people (the kind of people I like to BLOCK on twitter) say the Yankees didn’t deserve to win. I say, a win is a win is a win. Down 4-0 now leading 12-5.

O.M.G! Neither player hit the bag! Too funny, umpire gave it to Swisher โ™ก.

Posada with a base hit. YAY Sado.

Gardner swings at the first pitch and gets a single. Bases loaded.

Cervelli just hit a freaking GRAND SLAM!! Shut the eff up all you Cervelli haters!!

Bronx Bombers are no longer bombing in Texas, they are hitting bombs. Mark Teixeira with a 2-run home run.

Swisher up again. And makes the last out.

9th inning: Gardner with his third hit of the day.

Jeter with his 6th at bat.

With a 7 run lead Girardi puts Lance Pendleton in for the 9th

Ian Kinsler flies out to Brett Gardner. #1
Elvis Andrus with a base hit. Andrus to second, defensive indifference.
Michael Young walks.
Adrian Beltre pops out to Cano. #2
Mike Napoli strikes out swinging. #3

Ballgame over, Yankees win. Michael Kay’s new saying, “Put it in the left side.”

~~Yankees 12, Rangers 5~~

To recap: C.C. with 6 innings pitched, 5 runs, he came out and pitched to one batter in the 7th then Joba came out ended the inning scoreless, then Rafael for the eighth and Pendleton for the ninth. C.C. gets the win.

Jeter, Granderson, Cervelli and Teixeira all hit home runs. Jeter hit two, Cervelli hit a grand slam, the first of his pro career and in the same inning was Teixeira’s two run home run. This was also the second home run of his career.

In all the Yankees got 12 runs off 16 hits and committed 4 errors. 2 of them by CC. For series this season they are 8-3.

Tomorrow is a day off, next Saturday Kasey and I will be at the game.

Going back to Texas ~ Sabathia saves the day

Yankees 7, Rangers 2~~

Today was my regular Wednesday off so I was able to watch the game, but i wasn’t sure I wanted to … Forgive me for a momentary lack of faith Turned on the T.V. to see the Yankees up by 3, or did I see the 3rd run score? Yes I did, then watched the replays as the Texas players seemed to be throwing the ball all over the field. A run scored on an error counts the same. Kasey came home and so I came upstairs to watch on the big T.V., I watched Swisherโ™กโ™ฅโ™ก then Robbie hit the ball into the crowd, no disputing those home runs!

Lance Berkman ran for a foul ball, very Teixeira like, then had his feet slide out from under him when he hit the dirt. Very un-Teixeira like, he landed on his back and his head and his cleats hit the wall. Girardi and the trainer came out, he got back up and stayed in the game. He caught the next pop-up foul, for the final out. I was glad he changed his cleats.

Matt Treanor hit a home run off Sabathia in the 5th inning. I left to get the girl from work and when I got home, the Rangers now had 2 runs, and Kerry Wood was pitching. Elvis Andrus got on base and advanced to second on a wild pitch from Kerry. Kerry turned to check on him, he was heading for 3rd, Derek was at 2nd. It was a sweet pick-off. Then Kerry turned around and finished the inning. Then in the eighth, Curtis answered the Rangers 2nd run with a homerun.

This is very interesting, the Rangers had 13 hits and 2 runs. The Yankees had 9 hits and 7 runs.

C.C. pitched 6 innings, Kerry pitched 2 and Mo came in to finish the game. Yankees keep the series going. Next stop Texas.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010 ~ Yes the Yankees DO Like to Come From Behind

~~Yankees 7, Rangers 6~~

Wednesday night is church, I don’t miss for baseball games. I do take my phone however ๐Ÿ˜‰ Which is how I knew the Rangers scored a run in the first inning. When I got home the score was 3-1 Rangers and I decided not to turn on the T.V. I had a bad fan moment and said, “The Yankees can lose without me.” ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

While doing other stuff online, which I can’t remember now what I was doing, I had Gameday on, the score crept up to 6-1. Javier was disappointing me and a lot of people. I tried to stay calm, not watching the game helped, I least I wasn’t seeing the melt-down.

Then slowly the Yankees began to gain ground, Sergio Mitre pitched to end of the 6th without giving up a run, 6-2. Kerry Wood pitched 2 shutout innings and the score was now Rangers 6, Yankees 5, thanks in part to a home run by Marcus Thames, who was batting in Mark Teixeira’s spot.

The T.V. was turned on for the 9th inning, Marcus Thames brought run #7 across the plate. Then Mo came in for the save, and the first hit by Elvis Andrus was a triple. So now the tying run was on third. Please forgive me Mo. I was preparing myself for extra innings, I might have even said some things to my T.V. I should not have doubted Mo, give up a save two days in a row? Even non-Yankee fans don’t believe that’s possible.

So after the triple, there was a fly ball to right field and Austin Kearns made a “shoe-string” catch (no idea what that means), next batter bounced the ball to Mo. And he did his lazy look to third base, throw to Swisher at first …. (O.K., top of the ninth, Granderson ran for Berkman, so bottom of the ninth, Granderson was put in center field, Gardner was moved to left field, Kearns was moved to right field, the only place left for Swish was first base) 2nd out. Then the next batter grounded out to 3rd base.

Sometimes I think Mo likes to toy with people. Time: 3:45, Attendance: 48,676. Compiled by MLB Advanced Media
